Abstract
Superconducting magnetic shields of Bi1.7Pb0.4Sr1.6Ca2.4Cu3.6Oy with o r without Ag2O superconductor were fabricated in tubular form with one end closed by using a cold isostatic pressing method. It was found th at the addition of Ag2O in the BPSCCO samples resulted in no significa nt effect on T-c when sample were treated at 835 degrees C in air. How ever, the critical current density and the shielding magnetic flux den sity (at 77K) were found to be decreased, compared to the pure BPSCCO sample. The correlations of superconducting properties with microstruc ture of these materials are discussed in this paper.
