Solid-liquid interfaces during automated Czochralski crystal growth ar
e systematically studied for different oxide materials. The shape of t
he core in Bi12SiO20 and Bi12GeO20 is related to the interface curvatu
re. Numerical calculations are performed in order to obtain temperatur
e profiles and flow patterns for different melt heights. The experimen
tal results widely confirm the theoretically predicted interface shape
s at different stages of the growth process.
