E. coli 14, incorporated in Fluorocult(R)-medium, was exposed to water
y Enrofloxacin solutions in concentrations between 1000 mug/l to 60 mu
g/l. In this system the sensitivity test, performed in agar holes (7 m
m diameter), still resulted in 3 mm inhibition zones at concentrations
of 60 mug/l. This method lends itself as a highly sensitive system fo
r the detection of such compounds in tissue fluid, serum, secretions a
nd excretions.
