Msr. Subrahmanyam et al., ESTIMATION OF SHARMA CONSTANT AND THERMOACOUSTIC PROPERTIES OF FATTY-ACIDS, Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 72(12), 1995, pp. 1537-1540
From the volume expansivity a, a number of thermoacoustic parameters,
including the Sharma constant, So, are estimated for four fatty acids
as a function of temperature. The Sharma constant, which was establish
ed to be a constant with the characteristic value 1.11 +/- 0.01 over a
number of systems investigated by earlier investigators, is also foun
d to be a constant with the same value for all fatty acids under inves
tigation. Further, the Sharma constant, So, is independent of temperat
ure and dependent only on a. All other parameters estimated are discus
sed and compared with the values reported in the literature by earlier
workers for different systems.
