A regression study of Andrade, Krone, McAllister and Hildebrand equati
ons with experimental data of viscosity of mixtures of triglycerides o
r free fatty acids and trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene and hexa
ne was carried out. Temperature range studied was 278-313 K in steps o
f 5 K. The results showed that the Hildebrand equation presents the be
st fit for ail the viscosity data of the mixtures studied, tending tow
ards a lineal or parabolic function of its parameters. Andrade and Kro
ne equations presented acceptable fits for all mixtures studied except
the fatty acids and hexane mixture. The McAllister equation was appli
cable only to mixtures with tetrachloroethylene.
