REDUNDANCY OPTIMIZATION IN CONSIDERATION OF UNCERTAINTY

The redundancy optimization policies for system reliability improvemen t have been studied in recent literature. In this paper, the uncertain ty of the system environment is considered and the concept of system r obustness is introduced to the redundancy optimization. The system rob ustness is considered as an inherent system ability to resist the unce rtainty of the system environment. Two new criteria are suggested for selection of the component for parallel redundancy. An example is give n to illustrate the new optimal policy.
