DETERMINATION OF UV-ABSORBING STABILIZERS IN HARD-PVC

A Screening method using high pressure liquid chromatography was devel oped to determine uv-absorbing stabilizers in hard-pvc food contact ma terial. The separation of the stabilizers from the polymer can be carr ied out by precipitation or by supercritical fluid extraction. The met hod is suitalbe to control the regulations of recommendation II of the BgVV. It also facilitates to give an infomation about the kind and qu antity of potential migrants in view of the future additive regulation of the EU.
