Abstract
In tests of the F/A-18 aircraft, wing rock was observed in laminar sub scale tests as well as in full-scale night, whereas wind-tunnel tests at an intermediate Reynolds number showed no wing rock. An analysis pr eviously performed for a generic aircraft model was extended to identi fy the flow mechanisms behind this chain of events.
