Abstract
Expectations for reporting factor analysis results as part of construc t validation are explored in the context of emerging views of measurem ent validity. Desired practices are discussed regarding both explorato ry factor analysis (e.g., principal components analysis) and confirmat ory factor analysis (e.g., LISREL and EQS factor analyses). A short co mputer program for conducting parallel analysis is appended.
