Abstract
P.E. Spector developed the Work Locus of Control Scale (WLCS) to be us ed in work settings. The present study examines three aspects of the W LCS in three separate samples: (a) factor structure, (b) criterion-rel ated validity, and (c) convergent and discriminant validity. The prepo nderance of evidence suggests that the WLCS consists of two factors: i nternal and external. In contrast to using an overall WLCS score as de scribed in Spector's development of the measure, users of the scale ar e advised to compute separate subscales.
