Abstract
The precipitation of KDP produced by salting-out with aqueous solution s with different contents of ethanol, l-propanol and 2-propanol have b een studied at 30 degrees C. Induction periods were determined as func tion of the solution initial supersaturation by a visual procedure. Fr om the experimental results it was possible to conclude that the forma tion of the new solid phase is controlled by primary nucleation follow ed by normal growth. The interfacial. surface tension of KDP in differ ent solvents was also obtained.
