Absorption, reflection, photoluminescence and magneto-absorption of MB
E grown ZnSe heteroepitaxial layers and MQWs in ZnSySe1-y/Zn1-xCdxSe h
ave been studied on etched from the substrate, deformation free, super
-thin samples at T = 1.7 K and B less than or equal to 7.5 T. Analysis
of oscillatory magneto-absorption spectra gives the possibility to es
tablish a new set of ZnSe band parameters with a ''bare'' electron eff
ective mass m(c) = 0.123 m(0). Renormalization into a ''polaron'' set
is necessary to describe exciton series. The combined use of these tw
o sets permits us to obtain a good description of MQW excitonic spectr
a. The specific Fabry-Perot interference picture, characteristic for e
xciton-polariton phenomena, was observed in super-thin ZnSe samples.
