Abstract
Electron and optical beam induced current (EBIC, OBIC) techniques have been applied to the study of thin film polycrystalline CdS/CdTe photo voltaic devices which have undergone different post deposition treatme nts (e.g. CdCl2 and heat treatment). The use of front wall, cross sect ion and back wall geometries for the injection of carriers proves very useful in understanding the effects of the post deposition treatments and also demonstrates the relative merits of the various beam injecti on techniques at characterising thin film devices.
