Abstract
This study investigated the construct validity of scores on the Struct ure of Temperament Questionnaire (STQ), which was designed to measure: eight dimensions of human temperament. The 105 STQ items were factor analyzed. Guided by previous research, both three-factor and nine-fact or solutions were compared to the theoretical structure of the instrum ent. Neither the orthogonal nor the oblique solution revealed the eigh t first-order temperament factors (plus a social desirability factor). The three-dimensional structure of the STQ items was supported.
