As Stern and Barley suggest, what is social about organizations is cur rently undertheorized given the aspatial character of administration a nd financing, reliance on external labor markets, and the global chara cter of production and distribution. Nevertheless, organizations are s ocial entities and deal with social accounts that accompany and supple ment their legal responsibilities and rights.
