Ja. Ruiz et al., MYCOFLORA AND AFLATOXIN-PRODUCING STRAINS OF ASPERGILLUS-FLAVUS IN GREENHOUSE-CULTIVATED GREEN BEANS (PHASEOLUS-VULGARIS L), Journal of food protection, 59(4), 1996, pp. 433-435
The fungal contamination in green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was st
udied according to their location and height during growth in greenhou
ses. The genera most frequently isolated were Aureobasidium, Aspergill
us, Penicillium, and Alternaria. Height and location did not have a si
gnificant influence on the fungal contamination of the beans. A strain
of A. flavus was isolated which had the capacity to synthesize aflato
xins in vitro.
