Abstract
Token Ring Networks have gained popularity due to their simplicity and ease of maintenance. However, the functioning of the entire network i s dependent on the well being of an entity called ''token''. The netwo rk ceases to function if the token is lost. There are algorithms sugge sted for improving the fault tolerant capabilities of the network with respect to the token. This paper proposes an algorithm to achieve fau lt tolerance. The algorithm is implemented on a simulated token ring n etwork.
