Abstract
Mo-Si-C composite materials were prepared by self-propagating high-tem perature synthesis and characterized by x-ray diffraction and microstr uctural analysis. The air oxidation kinetics for the MoSi2 : Mo2C = 1 : 1 composite is indicative of the high heat resistance of the materia l up to 1350 K.
