THE PREPARATION OF BIOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REFERENCE MATERIALS

The facilities of the Institute for Reference Materials and Measuremen ts for the preparation of biological and environmental reference mater ials are discussed under the aspect of satisfying important parameters for the preparation of candidate reference materials. The choice of t ransformation methods and their possible influences on quality and lon g-term conservation, the need for automation as well as the importance of quality control are particularly emphasized.
