A. Abdelghany et al., ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY AND THERMOELECTRIC-POWER OF AGSBSE2 IN THE SOLID AND LIQUID STATES, Materials chemistry and physics, 44(3), 1996, pp. 277-280
Measurements of the electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power o
f the AgSbSe2 semiconductor in the solid and liquid states were carrie
d out from 350 to 975 degrees C. The activation energy in solid and li
quid states was E(sigma S) = 0.343 eV and E(sigma L) = 0.813 eV, respe
ctively. In the liquid state, the data was analyzed in terms of a mode
l developed for the density of states and electrical transport in soli
d amorphous semiconductors by Mott. Negative thermoelectric power in t
he liquid state suggests a large predominance of electrons in electric
al transport. Moreover, the coefficient of the linear decrease of ener
gy gap with temperature was found to be 2.265 +/- 10(-4) eV K-1.
