Abstract
Mineral and microbial content of water affects the performance of poul try. Because poultry production can adversely affect water quality, th e Environmental Protection Agency monitors and regulates its impact. M anagement of nonpoint source water contamination is especially importa nt. If properly managed, Litter, a valuable secondary commodity associ ated with poultry production, can be used as fertilizer, food, or ener gy.
