Abstract
The deep recession of the recent years has forced the industry as well as in particular the food industry to look for new manufacturing tech nologies, especially to reduce the manufacturing costs. In this articl e the latest developments in the automation technology relevant to the food industry will be described and the application of industrial rob ots in the food industry will be discussed.
