In this concept detection limit (DL) and identification limit (IL) are
derived as in DIN 32645. For the quantification limit (QL) a new appr
oach is presented that takes account of elements of a concept of Deuts
che Forschungsgemeinschaft in the field of residue analysis. Primary i
mportance is given to the variability of analytical signals around the
calibration line in a very low concentration range. This variability
is represented by the prediction interval (for a probability of 95%) o
f the line. - Several practical hints and a detailed calculation examp
le illustrate this concept further.
