Abstract
A study was undertaken to determine the surfactant properties of vario us sulfated alcohols. Most notably, the Krafft point and the ability t o emulsify decane were studied. A series of sulfated Guerbet alcohol a nd Guerbet alcohol alkoxylate sulfates with 16 carbon atoms and an ana logous series based upon cetyl alcohol, a linear C-16, were studied as hydrophobes.
