Ah. Con et al., ISOLATIONS AND IDENTIFICATION OF LISTERIA -MONOCYTOGENES AND OTHER LISTERIA SPP IN TURKISH STYLE DRY SAUSAGE (SUCUK), Archiv für Lebensmittelhygiene, 47(3), 1996, pp. 65-66
In this study, a total of 30 Turkish style dry sausage (sucuk) was col
lected from local meat product retailers, and these samples were inves
tigated for the occurence of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria
spp. While a total of 7 samples (23.3 %) was Listeria-positive, only
5 (16.7 %) of those samples contained L. monocytogenes, 7 samples (23.
3 %) L. innocua, and one (3.3 %) L. seeligeri. When the samples contai
ning Listeria were quantitatively analyzed, the number of Listeria was
very low.
