B. Mcmahon, THE ROLE OF JOURNALS IN MAINTAINING DATA INTEGRITY - CHECKING OF CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE DATA IN ACTA-CRYSTALLOGRAPHICA, Journal of research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 101(3), 1996, pp. 347-355
Quality control of the papers in its journals is a major concern of th
e International Union of Crystallography. Recent technological develop
ments, not least the emergence of a standard data interchange file for
mat, have facilitated the checking of numerical data in a paper, and i
ts error-free transference to the printed page. Consequently, database
holdings derived from IUCr journals will be of greater accuracy. Othe
r publishers of crystallographic data may benefit from these innovatio
ns.
