Abstract
Annealing cadmium telluride wafers in unsaturated cadmium vapor was us ed to prepare thermally stable, semiinsulating material with a transmi ttance of 62-66% in the region 2-20 mu m. The mechanisms responsible f or the electrical bistability and the increase in IR transmittance upo n annealing are discussed.
