Principal possibility of superconductivity in a mixed carbon-free bori
de with a ferromagnetic component was demonstrated. The superconductin
g material was synthesized under a pressure of approximate to 3 GPa fr
om a powder mixture of nominal stoichiometry YNi2B3. The phase respons
ible for superconductivity has the approximate composition YNi1.9B1.2
and is isostructural with YNi2B2C. The superconducting properties of t
he sample are T-c similar or equal to 13.0 K, Delta T-c similar or equ
al to 0.6 K, j(c) > 2.1 x 10(3) A/cm(2) at 4.2 K and zero magnetic fie
ld.
