Abstract
DTA, TGA, XRD, and coulometric titration were used to study the kineti cs of reactions between BaCO3, Ln(2)O(3) (Ln = Nd, Eu, Yb), and CuO an d the sequence of chemical transformations during synthesis of LnBa(2) Cu(3)O(x) and Yb2BaCuO5 at temperatures 850-950 degrees C. The conditi ons necessary for synthesis of single-phase products were identified.
