Abstract
The formation kinetics and changes in morphology of Y2BaCuO5 (green ph ase) in YBa2Cu3O6+x peritectic melts were studied by optical and elect ron microscopy. The 211 particles were isolated by selective dissoluti on of quenched samples. The growth mechanism of the green-phase partic les was shown to depend on holding temperature and time.
