Abstract
In our recent paper (Optik 101 (1995) 53-62), an expression was presen ted for reconstructing an optimal estimate of the complex specimen fun ction from the images recorded with an arbitrary detector configuratio n in the STEM. An algebraic error in that derivation is corrected here . The conclusions of the original paper remain valid, as these were ba sed on a simplified expression (resulting from the assumption of a sym metric defector configuration), to which the corrected expression also reduces.
