The potentialities of optical, photoelectric, anisotropic thermoelectr
ic, and optothermoelectric cadmium antimonide materials are considered
. We describe designs of apparatuses, physicochemical features of prep
aration procedures, approaches used for optimization, and properties o
f particular materials. Cadmium antimonide materials find many practic
al applications in new optical, thermometric, and other instruments, d
evices, and components.
