V. Trnovcova et al., IONIC-CONDUCTIVITY OF THE PBF2-CRYSTALS DOPED WITH ALKALI FLUORIDES(NAF EUTECTIC COMPOSITE AND PBF2 SINGLE), Inorganic materials, 32(10), 1996, pp. 1104-1107
Ionic conductivity of nominally pure PbF2 crystals, alkali-fluoride-do
ped PbF2 crystals (0.5-1 mol % Li, Na, K, or Rb), and the 69 mol % PbF
2 + 31 mol % NaF eutectic composite was measured as a function of temp
erature. The introduction of MF causes a sharp rise in sigma and a dec
rease in activation energy; the effects of equal concentrations of KF
and NaF are virtually identical. The room-temperature conductivity of
the eutectic composite is 1.5 x 10(-4) S/cm.
