M. Monkenbusch, ON THE INSENSITIVITY OF THE ASYMPTOTIC-BEHAVIOR OF SMALL-ANGLE NEUTRON AND X-RAY-SCATTERING DATA TO MULTIPLE-SCATTERING, Journal of applied crystallography, 29, 1996, pp. 591-592
It is shown that in the limit of small-angle scattering from a plate a
ny asymptotic power-law decay of the scattering intensity towards the
high wavenumber, q, end of the diffraction pattern is not changed by m
ultiple scattering as long as the intensity drops faster than 1/q(2).
In that case, asymptotically neither the exponent nu > 2 of the 1/q(nu
) tail of the scattering intensity nor the intensity of this tail are
affected by even heavy multiple scattering.
