Abstract
In the present paper, the analytical analysis and numerical calculatio n of ultrahigh-order (up to the ninth-order) geometric aberrations in an ideal hyperbolic electrostatic lens have been presented based on ca nonical aberration theory. The 3rd-. 5th-, 7th- and 9th-order aberrati on coefficients have been analytically derived and numerically compute d. Furthermore, the weights of different-order aberrations with respec t to total aberrations have been calculated in detail. It is expected that the numerical results are useful for estimating variations and ef fects of ultrahigh-order aberrations in electrostatic lenses.
