This was an event in which students learnt how to enhance their compet
ence in the use of skills relevant to studies in science; and in which
tutors learnt how to enhance their competence in tutoring science wit
h an emphasis on transferable skills. Both groups learnt and developed
(almost simultaneously) in similar ways, and were facilitated accordi
ng to the same principles.
