Abstract
Aberration-limited resolution in in-line Fraunhofer holography with co llimated beams is described. All the primary aberrations are considere d. Using the Rayleigh's quarter wavelength rule for the tolerable aber rations, the allowable object diameters are then determined. These dia meters are in terms of the recording and reconstruction wavelengths, t he number of diffraction side lobes recorded, and the number of far fi elds.
