Kj. Klauer, REEVALUATING SOME EVALUATIONS OF A TRAINI NG OF INDUCTIVE REASONING -ANSWERS AND NEW RESULTS, Zeitschrift fur Padagogische Psychologie, 9(1), 1995, pp. 13-23
Hager, Hasselhorn & Elsner (1995) examine the empirical evidence avail
able until 1991 concerning the effectivity of a program aimed at foste
ring inductive reasoning. Irrespective of some minor points, different
views are to be stated particularly concerning the question of the ap
propriate control group and, closely related to it, concerning the que
stion of how to optimally estimate the effect size of a training progr
am. These differences are discussed using new data and meta-analytic s
yntheses so that new solutions for research in training processes can
be proposed.
