B. Chabance et al., CHARACTERIZATION OF AN ANTITHROMBOTIC PEPTIDE FROM KAPPA-CASEIN IN NEWBORN PLASMA AFTER MILK INGESTION, British Journal of Nutrition, 73(4), 1995, pp. 583-590
Bovine and human kappa-caseinoglycopeptides, two antithrombotic peptid
es derived from the corresponding kappa-caseins, were detected in phys
iologically active concentrations in the plasma of 5-d-old newborn inf
ants after ingestion of cow's-milk-based formula or human milk respect
ively. It is suggested that these two bioactive peptides are released
from milk proteins during digestion.
