A questionnaire was sent to all establishments responsible for educati
ng hearing impaired children and students in Northern Ireland. A 100%
response was obtained. The information is shown as raw figures and cor
responds to the questions asked and relates to the survey date 20th Ja
nuary 1994. The questionnaire was divided into the following sections:
A. General Information - names and types of establishments B. Teacher
s of the Deaf - number qualified and unqualified and number in trainin
g C. Support Staff D. Children and Hearing Loss - totals divided into
cohorts, degrees of hearing loss and communication approaches used
