MICROWAVE NOISE POWER - REALIZATION OF TH E UNIT AND TRANSFER BY AN INTERLABORATORY COMPARISON

Within the German Calibration Service (DKD) the first interlaboratory comparison of microwave noise power took place in a national loop betw een the PTB and several calibration laboratories. The use of a new tra nsfer noise standard enabled the broadband link of the reference stand ards of the participants to the PTB primary noise standards over three different frequency bands, for the first time. By means of the achiev ed low measurement uncertainties the quality of measurements is judged on a uniform basis. AN overview on the state of the art of precision microwave noise power measuring techniques is given by presenting the action and the outcome of the comparison.
