Abstract
The article introduces absolutely and convectively sensitive flow regi mes in a viscous flow. The theory of wave paket disturbances for lamin ar and turbulent flows is developed and its application for the drag r eduction of blunt bodies, of vehicles, and for the design of transonic civil aircraft wings is proved.
