Abstract
A novel method to estimate unknown system parameters for SISO linear t ime invariant systems using functional approximation is proposed. It i s shown that the differential equation of a linear time invariant syst em can be approximated by a finite Taylor series and the unknown syste m parameters are then estimated by using the information from the Lapl ace transforms of the input and the output.
