Abstract
The concept of focal shifts and Fresnel number for Gaussian Schell-mod el(GSM) beams is introduced in this paper. Then, a simple proceduce fo r tracing GSM beams through optical systems is presented based on the propagation of the focal shifts through optical systems. Some special cases are given.
