An intercomparison of radiance temperature scales has been performed b
y the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the National Institute of
Standards and Technology (NIST) using a standard transfer pyrometer o
perating at a wavelength of approximately 1000 nm. It was found that t
he radiance temperature scales established by the two laboratories wer
e in agreement to 0.1% or better of the temperature over the range 100
0-degrees-C to 2500-degrees-C.
