We report an application of the maximum entropy method in in-line Fres
nel electron holography, in which disturbances due to so-called twin-i
mages are a serious problem. The maximum entropy method is known to be
robust for noisy data and is especially useful for an application to
biological specimens in which electron dose is extremely low. The meth
od requires only one hologram, and so is advantageous for reducing rad
iation damage. The algorithm of the method and results of numerical si
mulation are given.
