Abstract
YBa2Cu3Ox domains for levitation applications have been produced by a seeding technology: that includes Nd1+xBa2-xCu3Oy seeds and melt-proce ssing technologies such as conventional melt-textured growth, melt-tex turing with PtO2 and Y2BaCuO5 additions, and the new solid-liquid-melt -growth technology. Large domains (similar to 20 mm) with high levitat ion forces (F-1 up to 8.2 N) have been produced. The reproducibility o f the results is good, and the capability of producing a large number of pellets in a single batch indicates good potential for the producti on of large amounts of this material.
