Abstract
Single crystal cored fibers (SCCF) of 4-nitro-4'-methylbenzyledene ani line (NMBA), (-)2-(alpha-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine (MBA-NP), and ethoxy methoxy chalcone (EMC) have been grown in glass capillaries from their melts with internal diameters ranging from 20 to 50 mu m a nd lengths up to 5 cm for use as waveguides. The details about the exp erimental procedure and the technique adopted to fabricate SCCF of the above mentioned materials are reported. The fibers have been characte rized using X-ray diffraction and polarizing microscopic techniques.
