MISORIENTATION-ANGLE DISTRIBUTION OF RANDOMLY ORIENTED SYMMETRICAL OBJECTS

The problem of the distribution of the misorientation angle for symmet ric randomly oriented objects is solved. It concerns, in particular, t he crystallites in polycrystalline materials. The solution is the refe rence point for materials with nonrandom orientation distribution of c rystallites and no correlations between the orientations of the neighb ouring grains. The method applied is based on Rodrigues parametrizatio n of rotations. The results for all point-symmetry groups are given.
