HOLOGRAPHIC PHASE-SHIFTING INTERFEROMETRY USING LIQUID-CRYSTAL TELEVISION

A novel technique for holographic phase shifting interferometry is des cribed, in which the hologram is written on a liquid crystal televisio n. Phase shifting is achieved using binary gratings, combined with the hologram on the liquid crystal panel. We describe a system which was used to measure small out-of-plane displacements of rough surfaces, an d demonstrate its operation with experimental results.
